"While writing I have a hearing aid, new from the NHS two weeks ago, and I'm still getting used to it. Unfortunately the device has gone "dead" and it isn't the battery.
Presumably there is a place where I can go in Paphos or Limassol to ask if they can identify the problem? Maybe it's one of the general hospitals?
If anyone you know has a hearing aid maybe I could contact him/her for information".
"The hearing aid centre I use which I can recommend is:

"My brother (in the UK) has suffered similar problems to your enquirer.... He offers the following advice.
"One person was asking for advice in the Newsletter about their hearing aid, if you can let them know that the problem may very well be the filter. The way to sort this out is to take off the tubing, carefully remove the filter on the end of the hearing aid (it is very small and white) clean this by blowing and then replace. This is what I have to do at times as it gets clogged up."
Assuming this is the same type it may well solve the problem".
