ANIMAL RESCUE CENTRES

You will often see stray dogs or injured animals, particularly during and at the end of the hunting season.  The animal rescue centres are overwhelmed.  Paphiakos (26 953496/99 655581) is big enough to be able to cope with your enquiries, but the others are always full, so it is difficult to track them down.  They are, however, very good and always in need of volunteers and donations.  BARC is available to people with access to the Bases.

Two other shelters within reach are PAWS (99 683 775, Shop (Chlorakas) 99 108224) at Mandria and the Malcolm Cat Sanctuary at Akrotiri.

PAWs are usually overwhelmed with dogs (as are most shelters), but they will help if they can and are always in need of volunteers and donations.   See directions to PAWs in the telephone list at the front, and a note about PAWS and the Malcolm Cat Sanctuary in the Charities tab.    There is a collection tin in 1911 and a bin for food donations at the check out in Papantoniou Supermarket in Paphos.   You can donate unwanted Papantoniou points to PAWS at our new Supermarket.
