Oriental Hornet

From the Cyprus Living forum:    "....the Oriental Hornet pack a nasty sting, which can be quite painful and may cause anaphylactic shock if you are allergic to their venom.   However, they are not aggressive unless attacked, in which case they produce a pheromone which calls for help and the attacker may find that he becomes the attacked.    Leave well alone and they will do no harm".     

Not so easy if they are trying to share your lunch al fresco.   One of those nice electrified tennis bats might help!
